My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tulula
2 year old Female Brown Tabby and White Maine Coon Mix
Regular adoption fee: see below

Petite, sweet, with cute white feet, Tulula was already a little heartthrob when we placed her as a kitten in 2010. Of course, we assumed she was going to her forever home at that time, but a few weeks ago she was returned to us with gingivitis so severe that we had to have some of her teeth extracted to spare her future problems. Whether this circumstance could have been avoided is now “water under the bridge.” The fact is that she is back in rescue again, with her original foster mom.

It took this poor girl a few weeks to adjust to the unexpected move, but by now she has settled into her foster home and is nicely relaxed. Obviously, we want to make sure her next home is actually permanent. This gentle cat has been through quite enough in her short life! You can see in her most recent photographs how nice she is, despite everything.

Tulula lived with a single person from the time she was 5 months of age, in a home with no other pets. In foster care, she tolerates the company of other cats and even a gentle dog, but she would also be happy as an only pet. She would love to go to another single person or a quiet couple who will give her plenty of attention and love.

Tulula is mitted on all four feet, with a fluffy tail and very soft, silky fur. She is playful and still a kitten at heart. She eats well, both wet food and kibble, despite the tooth extractions. Not a large cat, she weighs only around 6 lbs, and although a cat of this type continues to grow until the age of 3 or 4, we would not expect her to get much larger.

Tulula will come to you fully vetted, spayed, tested, microchipped, and vaccinated. In fact, because she has a slight heart murmur (as many cats and people do), we took the precautionary step of an ultrasound before her dental work. Fortunately, the vet assured us that her murmur is not of the life-threatening variety. We will pass along to her adopter the records of all vetting she has had while in rescue.

Tulula is fostered in Davis.
