My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello Beagle world!! I am Bugle, and when I see a squirrel, I can really live up to my name! Foster mom says I should be named McDreamy, because I have the dreamiest eyes! I have bluetick coloring, which isn’t as common as the black, white and tan tricolor beagle, but under that fur I am all beagle! And it makes me quite the handsome man, if I do say so myself! I love to climb on your lap and smother you with kisses, and I know some basic commands like sit!, off!, and stay!. I also have a “Sit up and beg” that will just melt your heart!

I was heartworm positive when the Midwest BREW folk picked me up, and I’ve had the treatment to get rid of those nasty things. I’ve had to endure 30 days of rest and quiet, and let me tell you, that was hard for an active boy like me! I’m all better now, and foster mom takes me on long hikes and to the dog park where I can live life to the fullest! I love to be outside, so a fenced yard and a family that likes to take walks would be tops on my wish list!

A couple things you should know- I HATE those crate things, and even though foster mom is trying hard to get me used to it, I may never be a dog that is happy in a crate. I do just fine outside of it, and haven’t gotten into TOO much trouble when no one is home. As long as I get plenty of exercise, I just curl up and sleep ‘til my people get back. There have been a few times when I’ve pottied in the house when no one is home, but foster mom has me on a regular schedule, and says I’ve gotten much better!

Mostly, though, foster mom says I’m just a big bundle of love and energy, looking for my forever home. I get along fine with all the other dogs I’ve met, and kids are ok, too- although I can sometimes be a little too rambunctious for the really small ones. Cats? They better look out, because they are just too much fun to chase! But if you want a beautiful boy to match your active lifestyle, pick me!

Love, Bugle
