Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Here are some things you might already know or be able to guess about Pandora, with her being a red tick puppy and all. She is red, SO red. Red fur, red nose, red (amber) eyes, red toenails (saves on polish cost) even red pads on the bottom of her little feet. She plays like there is no tomorrow with seemingly boundless energy, delighting babies, toddlers, adults as well as people “of a certain age” and then just as quickly, settles down into a sleep that mimics a coma. She takes up ¾ of a queen size bed, but again, that’s just what puppies do!
Now for more specifics on the whole package that is Pandora. We’ll start with the best thing. Although still a young pup Pandora knows and more importantly, respects the word “no”. Whatever she has or is doing no matter how enticing is immediately dropped if she hears that command, and instead of going back to the object she just moves on. Here at home we wish we were so lucky with our toddlers.
We think Pandora misses her three brothers; she was with them for a very long time. She does not like to be alone. She wants to be in the midst of the family and all the action, or cuddle up in the quiet times. She is housetrained on a potty pad, not because she doesn’t or can’t “go” outside, but because she does not like to be by herself outside and foster mom cannot consistently go out with her. We believe that she will get used to being crated if she has to be, she is not afraid or destructive while crated, she is just so sad to be by herself that there is a lot of crying and yelping. We are practicing and she is getting better, but foster mom does not have to crate her and so she’s a little spoiled in that area.
Overall, Pandora has a gentle nature, likes to play fetch, gets the zoomies but is also very affectionate and mellow after all the excitement dies down. Like to sleep in? So does Pan. She settles down in foster mom’s bed for a 9 hour night and still has to be nudged when the alarm sounds. We really don’t know how long this dog would sleep in if left on her own; she sure loves a nice big bed and soft fuzzy blanket.
One more thing: Pandora does not like (understatement) three year olds dressed as bumblebees. If you adopt her, under no circumstances expose her to this! (Don’t ask, we don’t get it either!)
