Salem's Story...
5 month old Female Selkirk Rex Kitten, born mid-April 2007

Salem is a purebred Selkirk Rex kitten. These are such rare cats that
we'd
never even seen one before. She is a very nice "specimen" for the
breed. She
has a nice round face and pretty copper/gold eyes. Salem's fur looks
like
it's going to "rex" well, which means she's going to have a nice curly
tight
coat. When we first saw her, she looked like a little professionally
groomed
poodle!

Salem is a very friendly, playful kitten. She will follow you around
and
talk to you until you play with her! It doesn't matter what it is...a
hand,
a toe, a ball, a string, a feather, her brother...you name it, she'll
play
with it!! She's become a bit of a momma's girl - she follows her foster
mom
around purring, wanting to be held. I don't think there is ever a time
when
Salem isn't purring!! She's fine around people and other cats once
she
gets to know them, but she does NOT like dogs.

Salem is being fostered in Martinez, CA. Adoption fee: $200

Contact Ellen at (707) 592-8770 or Ellen@PersiansPlus.org if you have

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Salem, a Davis Selkirk Rex kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Selkirk Rex for sale in Davis, or seeking a Selkirk Rex kitten from a breeder in Davis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Davis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Davis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Selkirk Rex breeders who help with Selkirk Rex rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Davis paves the way for another one to be saved.
