My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

COOPER
1.5 year old Male Chinchilla Persian
No, this is not a dream.
Imagine a beautiful white cat dusted with silver powder, a glorious coat with long flowing toe tufts, ear tufts, tufts everywhere. Imagine jewel-green eyes and a calm, intelligent look. A healthy young cat who is neutered, current on shots, litterbox perfect, playful with toys or other kitties, happy to snuggle, and lavish with kisses. One who even purrs with delight as you brush him. Cooper’s foster mom is in love.
How does a cat like this come to need a new home? So often the reasons make us shake our heads in wonderment that a guardian could so easily discard a loving companion, but that was not the case here. Rather, Cooper was yet another economic casualty: his heartbroken mom had lost her job, her car, and her home and finally had to move in with family, in a place where Cooper was not welcome. Every cat is initially discomfited by change, and Cooper obviously missed his mom at first, but from kittenhood he had been helped to develop that most valuable trait—an expectation of love. Quickly he showed us his resilience.
In rescue, Cooper lives with other cats, but he would be just as happy to be your only darling. We don’t know how he would do with a dog, and so we will give preference to applicants who do not have dogs. Persians of this type do not tend to have heavy drainage from the eyes, but all Persians require daily brushing. Only a family ready to attend to this task every day, without fail, should consider adopting Cooper or any other Persian cat.
Cooper currently resides in Lodi. For more information, contact his foster mom Jen.
