Percy was surrendered to a shelter in Newark after Hurricane Sandy. We are not sure of the circumstances, but we do know that this little guy is great! He is about 5 years old, all black except for some small spots of white on his chest and paws, and very friendly.
Percy was in dire need of a bath when he got to his foster home, and he handled it like a champ. He loves to play tug-of-war, and amuses himself by chasing his tail (which he will never catch, but don't tell him)! He is very affectionate and follows his foster mom everywhere. He is fine around other dogs, but will not back down if challenged. He stood his ground when confronted by a 70 pound mastiff mix, and refused to be intimidated. He would be fine with older kids, but due to his spunky personality we would prefer a home without small children.
Percy is a bit overweight but very active, so slimming him down shouldn't be a problem. He is neutered, up to date on all his shots, microchipped, and housebroken. He is quite the charmer, and will make some lucky family very happy!
