Sophie & Baxter's Info...
| Breed: | Siamese | Color: | Cream Or Ivory (Mostly) | Age: | Kitten |
| Sex: | Female | Hair: | Short |
Sophie (snowshoe siamese mix) & her (lynx point) brother, Baxter, are adorable kittens who are still learning to feel comfortable around humans. They have made alot of progress in their foster home and are now ready for a forever home where they will be able to continue their journey of trust & love.
Sophie is more inquisitive and brave. Baxter while more cautious, has come into his own as well. Sophie regularly ventures out too far from her comfort zone and scares herself! To which she lets out a little meow and runs back to Baxter...they depend on each other for comfort & fun! While Sophie is more comfortable with people running around- she's not yet much of a lap cat. She is far too curious to sit still for long and wants to be up and about. While she does love to be pet- under her chin and on her belly in particular- as soon as you stop she's off to explore. She enjoys jumping from my nightstand to the window sill to watch the birds and squirrels outside.
Baxter while more cautious, has come into his own as well. He is quite the lover. He is more reserved. He's got big doe eyes that you can't help but fall for! And he is quite happy to snuggle and lay with you for hours, preferring an arm or your side to lean up against. He is a much more easy going fellow, very laid back. But still struggling with being held, especially while you are walking around .
They are comfortable playing now- Sophie about terrorizes her brother- she can't get enough playtime! But he will play for a while before retiring to his bed. She is very young at heart and spirited and adventurous! Where as Baxter is like a very old little soul. He likes his comfortable spots, he likes to nap and be rubbed, and he doesn't like to much racket. While they do come into the bed at night to sleep sometimes- they mostly lay at the foot of the bed.
If you're looking for a pair, have alot of patience, a quiet home and an extra dose of love, these kittens might be for you! Meet them in their Arlington, VA foster home.
Rescue Group Info...
We are a small, private feline-only rescue group dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless cats and kittens. We do not have a shelter and rely on a group of dedicated foster homes to care for our felines until a "fur-ever" home can be found. We actively promote the importance of spaying and neutering and best practices in companion animal care. The majority of our cats/kittens come from high-kill shelters. We do not receive any government funding and rely on private contributions, 100% of which go to provide medical care, food and supplies.
All of our cats are in private foster homes; therefore, we require an application be completed before setting up appointments to meet them; an application can be e-mailed, faxed or mailed upon request. Adopters must be within a reasonible driving distance to No. VA as we do not ship our animals; we participate in an adoption event held in Wash. DC most Sundays in conjunction with other rescuers. Please e-mail us for specifics.
We strive to make the "purr-fect" match through our interview and application process. Adoption fees include all medical work (FELV/FIV testing, shots; spay/neuter); home visits are required prior to final placement. The majority of our kittens are only available for adoption in pairs or as a companion to another young cat/kitten already in the home.
Northern Virginia/DC/MD; will consider nearby out of area adoptions if adopter is willing to travel to meet us and we are able to enlist the help of a rescue partner for the required homevisit..
