Luigi's Story...
11/16/13: LUIGI HAS BEEN ADOPTED!luigi is a sweetheart of a dog. Very docile and easy going. He does enjoy playing chase and tug of war with the other dogs. He likes kids and will make a wonderful family dog. He is also no longer underweight..in fact, he is a little chunker now:) We do not have a lot of information on Luigi as he and another dog-possibly his pup(also listed) were dropped off at a man's house. He was feeding the pair and trying to catch them to bring them to us. They were both a bit thin but have been eating well and gaining weight so they are on the mend. Luigi appears to be about 4-5 years old and looks mostly dachshund but we believe he may have some beagle or beagle/bassett in him as well. He is dachshund size (probably under 20 pounds). He has beautiful golden eyes and a unique silverish/brown coat. He is very sweet and appears to be a submissive personality. He has not displayed any food aggression towards the other dogs nor has he been aggressive towards children. We feel that he just needs a loving home and he will be an awesome family companion. He seems like he is very eager to please and yearns for someone to love him! His adoption fee will be $150. Your adoption fee helps us to cover Luigi's vetting and care while with us. If interested in adopting Luigi, please fill out our adoption application and email your interest.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Luigi, a Chiefland Dachshund/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Beagle for sale in Chiefland, or seeking a Dachshund/Beagle dog from a breeder in Chiefland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chiefland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chiefland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Beagle breeders who help with Dachshund/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chiefland paves the way for another one to be saved.
