Trixie's Story...
Meet Trixie everyone! She came to us in disguise as Lady Bug! As faith would have it she made it out of the high kill shelter just because she was in the same pen. Of course we couldn’t leave the real Lady Bug behind so it was faith again that saved her and we had two instead of one. At first poor Trixie just whimpered and crouched down to a crawl, but now she stands tall and is braver. She is such a doll it’s hard to believe she was so abused. She has come a long way thus far, but still has a way to go with trusting us humans. She is definitely a love bug and love attention. She doesn’t bark much and is very loving.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Trixie, a Huntsville Flat-Coated Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Flat-Coated Retriever for sale in Huntsville, or seeking a Flat-Coated Retriever dog from a breeder in Huntsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Flat-Coated Retriever breeders who help with Flat-Coated Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
