Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello Everyone,
My name is Shelli and I am a darling and very tiny bichon girl of about two who weighs only eight pounds. My foster mom says I really LOVE people, am playful, smart and very loyal. She also says I’m a good listener, a great snuggler and a VERY loveable little girl!
Dad says I am as ‘cute as a bug in a rug.’ (I don’t know what that means but I think it’s a good thing.) He says I have a favorite stuffed toy, my ‘froggy’ and that I like to take it everywnere with me. I like to throw it in the air and then chase it too. I also like to play ‘fetch the frog.’ (My doggy foster brother likes to chase Froggy too - but Mom says I’m faster on my feet so I usually get there first!)
I’m definitely what you would call a ‘people bichon’ - as I love to greet everyone at the door and be the center of attention. I love being around children too! I’m all wiggles and wags when they are around.
Did I mention that I love to play? Yes indeed, I do! I also love to jump into your lap, give you sweet kisses and stay there to be petted (and maybe even catch a few winks). Mom says I’m a pretty feminine little girl who is beautiful, sweet and kind. (She says that’s an amazing combination!)
Because I am still quite young, I am learning all kinds of things every day – yet there are still many new things to teach me! I’m housebroken and crate trained and I know some of my commands. (Mom says I’d love to sleep in the Big Bed in my forever home.) I’ve learned to play fetch and tug-of-war, am eager to please and quite smart – so it doesn’t take me long to do everything just right.
While I’m good and confident in my home, I still need some work on my ‘outside manners.’ I am scared of passing cars – and the noise they make, other dogs (especially big dogs) and dogs behind fences (they come running or making noise when I walk with Mom.) She is working with me to make me feel more secure and less afraid –and I am making progress every day.
So, if you are looking for a little love bug to share your home and lap, if you have children or another small dog, please complete an application at www.bichonfurkids.org-and ask for Shelli. I’ll be waiting to meet you.
Tails wags and cuddles,
Sweet, Sociable and Sensational Shelli
