Alex's Story...
Adopted from us 2 yrs ago, Alex recently lost his home when his family no longer had the time to devote to him after their new baby arrived. Alex is playful, d smart & cross-eyed ...he demands alot of attention and must be able to share your bed at night or he'll cry/paw at the door to be let in! He loves to be close to his person...and likes to sit on your head and groom you!

Here's what his foster mom says about him ....He is the biggest love bug ever. He has been on my lap and given me tons of kisses...such a sweetie. He has already realized this is his (temporary) home, he even tried to type on the computer. His only bad habit is waking me up by licking my face before the alarm clock goes off!

This super affectionate 3 yr old boy was used to living with another cat and a dog and is seeking a home where there is another 4 legged companion(s) . He is a gentle and VERY needy fellow who would adjust easily to most any new situation but you must have time to devote to him. Meet him in his Capitol Hill foster home! Posted 1/6/13

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
We are a small, private feline-only rescue group dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless cats and kittens. We do not have a shelter and rely on a group of dedicated foster homes to care for our felines until a "fur-ever" home can be found. We actively promote the importance of spaying and neutering and best practices in companion animal care. The majority of our cats/kittens come from high-kill shelters. We do not receive any government funding and rely on private contributions, 100% of which go to provide medical care, food and supplies.
Come Meet Our Pets...
All of our cats are in private foster homes; therefore, we require an application be completed before setting up appointments to meet them; an application can be e-mailed, faxed or mailed upon request. Adopters must be within a reasonible driving distance to No. VA as we do not ship our animals; we participate in an adoption event held in Wash. DC most Sundays in conjunction with other rescuers. Please e-mail us for specifics.
Our Adoption Process...
We strive to make the "purr-fect" match through our interview and application process. Adoption fees include all medical work (FELV/FIV testing, shots; spay/neuter); home visits are required prior to final placement. The majority of our kittens are only available for adoption in pairs or as a companion to another young cat/kitten already in the home.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
Northern Virginia/DC/MD; will consider nearby out of area adoptions if adopter is willing to travel to meet us and we are able to enlist the help of a rescue partner for the required homevisit..

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alex, a Arlington Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Arlington, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Arlington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Arlington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Arlington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Arlington paves the way for another one to be saved.
