Bessie's Story...
Bessie is a 7 1/2 month old, Basset / Dachshund X. She is chunky like both breeds can be at 33 lbs.
Bessie came from a pound, can't imagine why she was dumped there. She is such a love bug. She loves people does well with other dogs and likes to tell cats off. Bessie loves snuggling with you while you veg in front of the TV, or is just as happy to be running along side of you while you are taking a walk. She runs while you walk because of her short little legs.
The perfect home for Bessie would be a home that she is not left alone for long periods of time. She is very social and would becomes very sad. She will have to be allowed to sleep in bed with you, she will be your little heater and you hers.
If you think you can be Bessie's best friend, come meet this awesome little girl, you will melt.
Bessie is microchipped, spayed & up to date on her shots & vaccines. Please complete an online application at www.rescueAhart.org if you'd like to meet her. Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bessie, a Cincinnati Basset Hound/Dachshund puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Dachshund for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Basset Hound/Dachshund puppy from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Dachshund breeders who help with Basset Hound/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
