I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.
This adorable little guy is Kat, a 7 year old male parson russell terrier that came to us from Maryland in search of a great home. This sweetie was turned into a shelter when his owners could no longer care for him and we're so happy to have him! Kat is such a little gentleman…of course when you go to see him, he barks a little, but when he is out for a walk or playing with one of his many friends in our exercise yard, he is such a quiet little angel! He prances around with a ball in his mouth, and drops it at your feet for you to throw for him. Kat would prefer a home with no cats, but loves people of all ages. Kat is seriously a perfect little guy….he’s just waiting for the perfect family to come along! 3/18/12 File#21368

The Associated Humane Societies, founded in 1906, is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey. We comprise three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls . Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park Zoo. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park Zoo is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501 (c) 3 organization, and Popcorn Park is also a federally licensed zoo. The Society prides itself on our devotion to the thousands of animals that we care for annually and the chance for a better life we offer them. Our animal shelter is open to the public Monday through Friday from 12pm to 6pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 5pm.
We require a completed adoption application which can be obtained at our facility, or from our website: www.ahscares.org. We also require proof of home ownership if you own, or a copy of a lease stating that pets are allowed with no restrictions if you rent. We require vet records for any pets owned in the last five years as well. Our adoption fees vary based on age, breed, etc. Please call our facility for exact fee 609-693-1900.
We are the primary Animal Control for Barnegat, Waretown, West Creek, Surf City. We take in animals in need from all of the country.
