My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sierra: 3 yr old male brown and black Maine Coon mix

He was wearing a nice little collar with his name, Sierra, and a local telephone number on a blue tag. I am guessing it was his owner who came in saying this cat was found stray.( I think the owner forgot to take the collar off. ) The shelter called the number leaving messages saying that they had Sierra in a cage and would they please come get him. It was a working number but no one ever called them back. Poor guy, you can see how sad he was in the last photo's showing him in the stainless steel shelter cage.A shelter volunteer brought him to my attention " Could I take him." He had been in the shelter almost a month. My thanks to her and all shelter volunteers for the help they give kitties.

He has been reviving and it shows in his expression. He's probably about half way back to the normal, nice guy he is. You can still see some sadness there.

Sierra is a healthy boy and came in previously neutered. There is a slight chip on a canine but otherwise he is perfect. His fur is fuzzy and soft .His red nose sets off his pale green eyes. His whiskers are lush, long and expressive. He is a very handsome boy and a fairly big one at 13 pounds 11 ounces. Since he clearly has been outside it is important that he has been tested for FIV and FeLV and yes, he is "combo negative " .

He will make a wonderful, cuddly companion for some lucky family. He seems to be cat friendly and I am just guessing but I bet he could get along with a dog also.He just needs lots of love and attention and a little time to get over being abandoned by his human friends. His Maine Coony playfulness and humor will revive. He is happier and goofier every day and it shows in his relaxed expression. He likes to roll around on his back and watch to see if you are charmed with his antics and smitten with his fuzzy tummy.

He eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

His foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
