Lucy's Story...
Lucy is a 4 year old lab mix and was recently surrendered by her owner who is sick and could not keep her. She sits on command, walks well on the leash, and is house-trained. She is a ball of happy energy. On the go? Take Lucy with you! She loves to ride in the car and jumps right in! Lucy is sweet and playful and needs to find another family to be her forever family. You can tell by her pictures that all she wants to do is please! Think Lucy might be the girl for you? Complete an application at www.henricohumane.org to get started.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Richmond Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
