Sasha's Story...
Hello. My name is Sasha. I am a 1-year-old black domestic medium hair cat. Volunteers at START II took my kittens and me out of a high-kill shelter during the summer of 2012. We had very bad eye infections upon arrival, and START II provided us with the proper medical attention we desperately needed. Our eyes cleared up within a week!

I am a special needs cat. Part of my back right leg didn't form correctly, so I am missing a paw. I am perfectly healthy otherwise, and don't know that I am missing part of a limb. Luckily, I managed to win the heart of one of the volunteers, and she decided to foster me! One of my favorite pastimes is watching television. I love the Animal Planet channel. My second favorite thing to do is watch humans, especially doing housework. I am a quiet kitty looking for a special furever family that will look past my physical defects and love me for the sweet girl that I am. If you are interested in meeting me, please call Donna at (201) 873-7533 or email startkayne@gmail.com to make an appointment. I am current on my vaccinations, spayed, parasite-free, and tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sasha, a Elmwood Park Domestic Mediumhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in Elmwood Park, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair cat from a breeder in Elmwood Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elmwood Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elmwood Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elmwood Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
