This adorable little guy is Solo, a chihuahua that is almost 2 1/2 years old. Can you believe that this tiny little guy was found as a stray, running the streets of Newark all alone? How sad that someone let him go, but he is in good hands now and we just love our little Solo. He is an outgoing little boy with lots of personality and energy. Solo loves people and is very outgoing, and makes friends easily. He is very well-behaved and walks well on a leash, and is very gentle too. Solo tends to be a little shy upon meeting people, as most chihuahuas are, but warms up very quickly to everyone and just wants to be loved and cuddled. This is the perfect little boy for you chihuahua lovers out there, so please come on in and meet your new friend. He'll be waiting......smiling from ear to ear and tail a waggin'! 11/21/12 File#22077

The Associated Humane Societies, founded in 1906, is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey. We comprise three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls . Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park Zoo. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park Zoo is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501 (c) 3 organization, and Popcorn Park is also a federally licensed zoo. The Society prides itself on our devotion to the thousands of animals that we care for annually and the chance for a better life we offer them. Our animal shelter is open to the public Monday through Friday from 12pm to 6pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 5pm.
We require a completed adoption application which can be obtained at our facility, or from our website: www.ahscares.org. We also require proof of home ownership if you own, or a copy of a lease stating that pets are allowed with no restrictions if you rent. We require vet records for any pets owned in the last five years as well. Our adoption fees vary based on age, breed, etc. Please call our facility for exact fee 609-693-1900.
We are the primary Animal Control for Barnegat, Waretown, West Creek, Surf City. We take in animals in need from all of the country.
