Susie's Story...
Susie came to us after her person was hospitalized and there was no one left to care for her. She is very sweet, but has lived much of her life outside. She is currently living inside at her foster home. She is house trained and sleeps in a crate at night. Susie is good with the dogs, cats and horses at her foster home. She is a people dog and loves to have her belly rubbed. She also has very good manners with children. If you would like to meet Susie, go to http://bhsva.org/adoptions-home.htm to fill out an adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Susie, a Bedford Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler for sale in Bedford, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler dog from a breeder in Bedford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bedford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bedford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bedford paves the way for another one to be saved.
