My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Precious Kitty: 4 - 5 yr old female tortie point Ragdoll mix

March update: Precious is doing very well. She is returning to her nature as a loving little kitty much faster than I expected. She now will wind about your legs and arch up into your hand to get petted.
You can tell she is an affectionate love bug. At the same time the slightest noise will startle her and she will quickly pull back. She is still in her process of unfolding and has a little more growing in confidence to do. She will be fine. Some lucky adopter will get to take her home and give her all the love and safety she wants. And what a beautiful treasure they will have. I think she is actually a lap cat at heart.

This poor little girl was left behind in a closet. Her mom went to assisted living with dementia and never mentioned her cat. I don't know where her litterbox and dishes were but no one found her until over a week later when the manager came to clean the apartment. There was this lovely little girl in the closet ,eyes wide with fear. She was named "Closet Kitty".

Relatives were contacted and surprised to learn of her existence. No one cold take her. She was extremely frightened in the shelter.
Rigid with almost glazed eyes. They contacted rescue since she was not adoptable there. We gave her a wonderful box and she was happy to hide. RIght from the start we have always been able to pet her. She has no bad temper only fear. Though she relaxes when you pet her she goes back to fearful when you stop which I find surprising. She is
coming along and we have opened up her box to bring her out more.
She will be fine. We have had her a month and she now comes out a bit and looks to us for her meals etc. I named her Precious because she is and needs to hear it. I have no idea what her life was like or how long she was with her mom or where she came from. I wonder if she was she hidden from the landlord?

Precious needs someone to love her and cherish her and let her unfold into a happy little kitty. She likes attention, it is just she is frightened. Ragdolls are so sensitive. What emotions did she pick from her mom? It is hard not to wonder what her story is.

She is eight and a half pounds, healthy and eats well. Some of her teeth are missing. Her wonderful fur is VERY satiny and soft. Her delicate colors are set off by her very blue eyes. She is a lovely cat.

I would think she would do best as an only cat at this point since I don't really know how she is with cats or dogs. She needs a quiet home with no children and no chaos. Precious is recovering and will settle into the safety and love of her new home. Her adopter needs to be happy to watch her blossom but must be comfortable waiting and allow her to do it at her own pace. There is no hurry . It may happen quickly, I think. All she needs is love and time and a home. It is so satisfying to watch her unfold and become herself.

She eats wet and dry and is litterbox perfect.

Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
