Mindy & Minxy's Story...
Minxy and Mindy are a gorgeous, gentle-natured, social, outgoing and friendly pair of seven-year-old, 14-pound, female Russian Blue/Maine Coon-mix sister cats looking for a feline-loving guardian. These lovely girls are not ones to hide. In fact, they typically run to the door to greet you. They adore people of all ages – including children, and while they haven’t lived with other dogs or cats in years … they’d probably adjust just fine. Mindy has green eyes and the silky smooth coat of a Russian Blue. Minxy has golden eyes and the longer, silky plush coat of a Maine Coon with a huge plume of a tail. When it’s bed-time, all you have to say is “off to bed” and they jump right in with you. They are quite dog-like and even come when called. They purr and purr when you pet them. Mindy and Minxy are lifetime companions and have never lived apart. They enjoy snuggling together watching for birds out the window. Minxy and Mindy were born in South Africa but emigrated to the United States with their family. Their family is on the move again and this time the girls can not come with.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mindy & Minxy, a Chicago Russian Blue cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Russian Blue for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Russian Blue cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Russian Blue breeders who help with Russian Blue rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
