Zack's Story...
Zack is a 1 year old shepherd mix. His foster has found that he is extremely responsive to guidance and is a very quick learner. He rings the bell to go out and walks super well on a leash. Zack would do well in a house with another dog - he is a great follower of good behavior. Gentle, loves affection, and likes to play but not rough house. Zack is a cuddler, as you can see and is very easy to fall in love with. Zack is just an all around great dog! Zack is house-trained, crate-trained and has nice house manners. You can see Zach is ready to fit into the right forever family. One special note - Zach has tummy issues which are likely long term, but very manageable. With his daily medication, you would never suspect that Zach has any issues at all! If you would like to consider having Zack join your family, please complete an application at www.henricohumane.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zack, a Richmond Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
