My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPTED MARCH 2013 Bear the Shepherd, is a healthy, 100-lb, 3-year-old, neutered, housetrained, Black Shepherd mix, with medium-length hair who is up-to-date on all shots including Bordatella (which many kennels insist on). Bear loves to play and is affectionate, obedient and a very smart boy! He lives with and is great with cats and dogs. His good friend Keeper is also adoptable (don't have to go together). No experience with small children, however tweens and teens should be fine. Like many Shepherds, he protects his family with strangers, but within a short amount of time, he is jumping up to say hello! Bear's best home would have a good-sized yard to play in as he loves to play ball with his family. Bear is described as a social butterfly with a medium activity level outdoors and a couch potato activity level indoors. He loves a good squeaky toy! Fully housetrained, he is also crate trained. He has been with his family since puppyhood, however his family's life circumstances have changed and he needs a new home through no fault of his own. This well-behaved, affectionate and smart black beauty is a gem just waiting for a black Shepherd lover to take him home!
