Marie's Story...
IDGSR WELCOMES MARIE INTO THE SAFETY OF THE RESCUE!!!
Marie is a 10 month old purebred female German Shepherd Pup. She came to us by way of her owner and we circumvented her being taken to a shelter. Due to extreme financial hardship, loss of job & home, Marie needed us. IDGSR stepped up to help this sweetheart and we are happy to help her find her way and guide her to a family that will be able to take care of her the way she needs to be cared for. We promised her previous owner that we would ensure that she goes to a loving home where she will know love and a warm bed and good food in her tummy every day. Marie is All Puppy still, she does not realize that she is nearly big girl status but in her mind she's still a pup. She will need to go to obedience classes and get the full range of education that a German Shepherd needs. At IDGSR we like to emphasize how important it is to educate/train your GS. Everyone loves a well trained dog and German Shepherds excel at training, loving to please their families. If you would like to make Marie a part of your family please apply with this rescue. http://members.petfinder.org/~TN668/adopt_app.html

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marie, a Portland German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Portland, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
