found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
My name is Brooklyn and somehow I found myself at a shelter in AL with my sister. Oh, what a scary place those shelters are – so many dogs barking and carrying on because we just don’t understand why we are there. My sister was adopted at the shelter and SGRR came and rescued me! I am so happy to be with them because they are so kind and treat me so nicely. I especially love the lady called “Lisa” who comes to play with me, pets me, and walks me. I always remember to give her a big hug when she has to go home so she knows how much I love her and that I want her to come back soon!
Overall, I am a happy, happy girl who loves to smile and be loved. I am good with kids and with other dogs. While I love all people, I really gravitate toward men. I have an active energy level and would make a good walking buddy, but get use to turning heads when folks see me! Just watch my video so you can see for yourself just how pretty I am!
As you can see in my photos, I have a gorgeous long, chocolaty coat that I am very proud of. See what happens when you mix Chocolate with Golden – you get one delectable dog – ME! I am about 3 ½ years old and I have just been spayed. I am under heartworm treatment right now because my first owners did not take very good care of me. I am doing okay though and should be ready to go to my new home in mid-to-late April!

A contract is signed the day of adoption. Under the terms of the contract, all adopters are required to bring the rescue to a vet within 7 business days. The dogs receive basic veterinary care prior to adoption. If your vet identifies an illness that an adopter is not willing to treat, then the dog is returned and a full refund is provided.
The information provided on each dog is based on observations of our vets, volunteers, fosters and when available, trainers. While we do our best to report any and all issues, SGRR does not make any guarantees as to the health or temperament of any dog. Dogs evolve differently in different environments and we cannot predict with any certainty how the dog you adopt will act in your home.
Many of our dogs are fostered in private homes and we do not have a facility to visit. We are committed to our dogs before, during, and after adoption! The rescue retains title to the dog and can never be released or sold. Should the adopters no longer be able to keep the dog, SGRR must be notified so that we can take the dog back into rescue and place it into another home. We reserve the right to remove a dog at any time should we find the adopter is no longer caring for their Golden in a way we see fit. Adopters then have to agree to follow up visits as needed.
