My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

GINO
6 Year Old Male Black Maine Coon Mix
Special Needs; residing in Vallejo

COURTESY POST
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the placement of this cat. We take no responsibility for the cat's health and medical records. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.

Gino was born in the summer 2007 and his owner has had him since he was a baby. His mom was Siamese and his dad a Maine Coon. He is about 13 pounds and very fluffy. Gino once was an outdoor/indoor cat and would always stay close to home but he loved to hunt and bring his owner presents. Now with his special needs he is indoor only. He likes to sit in the windows and enjoy the outside view. Gino is not into regular cat toys very much, but enjoys playing with hair ties and paper towel rolls. He does like his scratching post. He plays and gets along with the other cat in his home and they have been best buddies for about 5 years. He likes to lounge around, being lazy, and climb on the back of the couch or on his cat tree and really enjoys sleeping on his owner's lap and be petted. Gino is good with the resident dogs in his home and usually ignores them unless they try to play with him. He then runs away. His owner loves him very much but is not able to give him the attention nor has the financial means that his special needs may require.

Gino has Struvite Crystals of the Urinary Tract System. Gino is otherwise healthy. We are looking for a home where someone is willing to keep Gino on a diet of CD or SO foods and work with their veterinarian for long term maintenance of the condition. What is important with this condition is keeping Gino at his ideal weight, providing lots of fresh water for him to drink, keeping him on the recommended diet, and a safe, secure, low stress indoor home where Gino is loved and treasured.

If you are that special person who thinks you can give Gino what he needs, please contact Karen at 707-301-6425 or Karen Pahler [aby_lover87@yahoo.com]. Please note that Gino is not in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home but residing in Vallejo with his owner who is placing him.
