Carter's Story...
Can you imagine finding this little guy out in the Yuma desert with wire wrapped around his head and neck left to die. Luckily he was found in time and Carter was then transferred to CRSD so he could have a chance at a home. Carter, est dob: 6/2010 is about 5 lbs and is very reserved with new people. Not good with children and does take his time trusting humans. He does love his foster family so we know that he will bond if given time and patience. He loves to walk or be carried and really loves a good lap . If you would like to meet Carter please send in your application found on the web site at www.RescueAChi.com and we will make sure someone contacts you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carter, a San Diego Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
