My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Imagine yourself ready to add a furbabie to your family and rescuing is the only way to get your special dog. You start your search online with your local shelter as you know they are they ones most in need! You know in your heart that when you find that special dog, it will reach right thru that computer and steal your heart. As you look you have an open heart and mind and are not sure exactly which one will move you most and then it happens...you see a precious, happy soul staring back at you. You read in the shelter notes that she is a shelter/volunteer favorite that they have been fighting to keep alive for months. You read further that she has non-contagious mange (demodex). On top of all that, her young body is also fighting kennel cough and she is skinny. It also says that she is great with other dogs. Despite all her little body was fighting, she greeted everyone with complete happiness bending herself in half and wiggling her whole body in hello! The last line of the shelter notes states that she is out of time at the shelter and could be euthanized at any time! Like you, we at TMH could not let such a special dog die, so TMH saved sweet Addie with one day to spare!

Addie's foster Mom tells us that she is fully crate trained, but that she also can be left alone in the home with her K9 foster siblings and is non-destructive and loves to cuddle on the couch spooning with her buddies! Her skin is healing beautifully, and she loves getting baths. She has had some basic training and walks well on the leash but needs to be reminded with a couple of treats to keep focused walking by your side. She knows sit, down, touch, focus and stay (this needs a bit more practice with distractions) but she is soooo smart and VERY food motivated so it will be a piece of cake if you continue her training. She loves to play but is NOT high energy. She is most happy if your arms are wrapped around her in love and who could blame her!!! This sweet baby deserves the very best life after all she has been thru...could it be you?
