Nicholas Nickleby's Story...
Nicholas Nickleby
8 years old, Declawed Black Male Persian
Fostered in Lodi, CA

This guy is such a special one, he came to us from a shelter in Santa Barbara and he's won over the hearts of all who have met him. Nick has hyperthyroidism which is very easily treatable, he is currently on a medicated cream that is rubbed inside his ear once a day. The condition can also be treated with a special diet if he was an only cat. This poor boy also has bad hips and is on Cosequin, an over the counter cat blend of glucosamine and chondrotin. This is just sprinkled on his wet food and he scarfs it right down. Nicholas is also in need of a dental which will be about $200, please considering sponsoring him! Nicky also loves to gives kisses, he will lick your legs, arms, and hands, he even reaches out with his paws and grabs your hand to give it kisses and nibbles. He loves belly rubs and cuddles. He would do best in a quiet child-free home since his hips are painful and it isn't good to carry him around. He is just an absolute love and will greet you everyday with a kiss. Nick is fostered in Lodi, CA. Please contact Jen at 916-217-2151 or email

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nicholas Nickleby, a Davis Persian cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Persian for sale in Davis, or seeking a Persian cat from a breeder in Davis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Davis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Davis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Persian breeders who help with Persian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Davis paves the way for another one to be saved.
