My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PENDING ADOPTION! Meet Bear! Bear is a Retriever-Chow mix. This is a guess, for he definitely has Retriever in him, and the Chow is a guess primarily because of the amount of black on his tongue.......but keep in mind there are approx 30 breeds that do have dark pigment within the breed.....including Retrievers! Bear also has shorter legs and a stockier body than is generally seen in Retrievers, although Bear is a bit overweight too, so that makes up some of the "stockiness". Bear is a very sweet older boy, he loves walks and rides in the car very nicely! Bear gets along well with other dogs, but gets a bit frustrated with jumpy, highly active dogs bouncing all around him. Bear enjoys his space and relaxing. We think he will be fine with children, BUT we don't recommend very young kids living with him. We think he will be a great grandparent dog, or for a retired person looking for some company, as well as an excuse to get out walking now that the weather is better. Bear is neutered and up-to-date with vaccines, heartworm negative and has been started on heartworm prevention. Bear is a great all around companion dog!
