Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"Sadie" is a beautiful 3-yo (born April 6, 2010) spayed female GSD (or possibly GSD/Husky) who is loving and super-energetic outdoors. Sadie is friendly with everyone she meets, and is great with children of all ages. She grew up in a home w/ a 1-yo and a 5-yo child, and enjoyed running around with them as they played, without ever showing any aggression. Sadie is great with other dogs for the most part, but she is a very intense herder, and will shadow and bark at other dogs as active as she is. She is never aggressive towards other dogs, but some dogs might take exception to her herding behavior. Sadie grew up with a cat, and after the initial careful introduction, left the cat alone. Sadie is tall and lanky, on the slender side for a GSD. She weighs about 60 lbs.
Sadie walks well on leash, and generally responds very quickly to those commands that she knows: "sit", "back", "wait", and "come." She loves to go for car rides and rides calmly in the car.
Sadie loves to play fetch, and will run around with a tennis ball in her mouth all day if given the chance. She loves to swim, and could run for hours on end. If you're a jogger, or a serious hiker, Sadie is looking for you! Another of Sadie's favorite activities is chasing the dot produced by a laser pointer. Simply put, Sadie is game for anything active!
In spite of Sadie's high energy level when outdoors, she is perfectly calm inside the house--except when visitors come over, which is to be expected. She likes to be near her people and will simply follow them around the house and lie down near them.
All in all, Sadie is a great family dog, but is only suitable for an family or individual that is extremely active. Walks around the block and the occasional visit to the dog park will not be enough for Sadie!
A family adopted Sadie as a 13-wk old pup from GSRSV in July 2010. A divorce and subsequent move to apartments forced the family to regretfully return Sadie to GSRSV.
