Here's what the humans have to say about me:
2013-06-05: Hello Families. My name is Shadow Dawg! I know what you are thinking; is he really a shadow? No silly’s I am SCLRR’s very sweet, three year old, sixty pound, black Lab mix.
SCLRR saved me from a local shelter on my very last day. I don’t know exactly what that means but I really appreciate them for getting me out of there, it was a scary place.
At my foster house I live with three other dogs and they are all nice, even though they don’t want to play with me. My foster mom says they are grumpy because they are older. I do have a lot of energy and I like to play with other dogs but I also respect the elderly and leave them alone when they want me to. When I go to live in my forever home I would love to live with another dog that I can play with. I have met some dogs at the park that like playing with me so I am happy with that. I know my manners and I am submissive with other dogs and I will go away if a dog is aggressive with me.
My foster mom says that I am a good boy. I do not destroy things like some Labs but I still have all of the bouncy playful energy that most young Labs have. Like most Labs I am a counter surfer I need to check things out and see if there is any food left unattended. I just want to make sure that no food will be wasted!!!
My foster mom says I am a medium to high energy dog so an active family would be great for me. I should be placed with kids over the age of 8 since I am still bouncy like a puppy. I really love to play frisbee and I am fast as the wind.
I am crate trained and even though I would prefer to be with a person at ALL times, I will go in my crate when I am asked to. I know sit and stay and I will do anything for a treat. I never ever go potty in the house; I heard that is a big NO-NO so I am a good boy at that.
My foster mom says she is not sure how I am with cats so she thinks it may be best if I do not live in a house with cats. I do like small dogs though.
I am not a water dog just so you know. I fell into the pool one day and I was so scared that now I am not even going nearby. But that’s ok; we can do other fun stuff. I love running!!! I am great off-leash at the park and I will stay close to the other dogs and my foster mom. I always come when she calls me because that’s who I am – a cool guy that wants to please.
I am really looking forward to my forever home so if you think I sound like your type of guy contact your family rep right away. My foster mom is great at giving me lots of love, but the more I hear about these ‘forever families’ the more I think I should probably get one of my own. My foster mom says that SCLRR families make the best forever families so I think that is the kind of forever family for me.
Have a Wonderful Day, families. I can’t wait to meet you!
