found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
My name is Penny!
Facts about Penny
- Breed: Jack Russell Terrier
- Color: White - With Black
- Age: Adult
- Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
- Sex: Female
I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and not good with cats.
Penny was abandoned so we didn't know much about her history, however she has been extremely helpful is assisting us to learn about her. She is a bit hand shy so she is looking for a home that is nice and calm and will understand that she needs to take it slow at first. However, that does not mean she is chill all the time. She is a Jack Russell after all! Penny is learning (very quickly) how to act like a dog and especially her breed. She has shown great improvement on her social skills and will eventually fully come around to just being comfortable in her own skin. Although she is OK hanging out with some of the other dogs here, we think she would benefit from being the only pet in the household. She is about three and a half.
We really appreciate your wanting to give a shelter animal a home and encourage you to search for just the right pet.

The Humane Society is a no-kill shelter. Our on-site clinic and staff of skilled Veterinarians looks after the health and well-being of every animal here. We offer FREE Vet care for the first 3 weeks after adoption. We also have a great adoption matchmaker who will gladly take your profile and match you or your pet with just the right cat or dog companion. Please feel free to submit your application!
If you'd like to sponsor this dog, please email email@example.com. You can give as much or as little as you like. Your donation is tax deductible. Thank you and our furry ones thank you.
Each and every animal here is very special to us. We are dedicated to finding each one just the right home. So for some cats and dogs, that means a much longer stay - as sometimes they are not as outgoing, pretty or have as perfect manners as they could. And because we don't "dispose" of them for this, our cost for keeping them healthy and becoming better companions is high.
Our one and only location is:
306 East 59th Street (between 1st & 2nd Avenue) in Manhattan.
Our adoption hours are 7 days a week, 10:30AM - 4:00PM.
