My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I’m going to warn you straight off, the tale I have to tell is a sad one. I started out living in a home, but for the past four years of my life, I have lived outside, by myself, tied up to a dog house. I know you feel for me, but maybe you’re thinking, gosh, can this guy really be a good pet after what he’s been through? I’m here to tell you though, you can’t keep a good beagle down and if you didn’t know this about me, you would never guess it. I am happy and friendly with a puppy like enthusiasm for life.

I just love to play and eat, you probably knew that last one but, as a beagle, I feel it doesn’t hurt to mention it. I take all the toys out of the toy box pretty much every day and I find a few other toys foster mom doesn’t seem to want to share, my favorite is toilet paper, but I’m not picky.

I am also housebroken, yeah I remembered, boy was foster mom relieved. The senior citizen dogs at my foster home think I’m kind of annoying and they sure let me know that the first few days, but now they are fine with me and I don’t bother them anymore. I think one of them may actually like me. If you had a younger dog that wanted to play, that would be great, but it’s okay with me if you want to dote on me alone.

I am active for my age and would appreciate opportunities to exercise and do things together. That doesn’t mean I can’t relax, but I do enjoy fun. Other things you should know are 1) I am pretty tall for a beagle, 2) I do like to explore – so a leash is a must 3) foster mom says I don’t listen too good – but I think it’s just because no one talked to me for so long and all I need is some refresher training.

I’d say adopting me is a win-win situation and I can’t wait to meet you.
