Hi, I'm Maude! Are you looking for a sweet, gentle girl? That's me!
I am a beagle/basset mix, which makes me especially pretty, and a couple pounds larger than most beagles. I like to say I'm sturdy and cute. My vets don't quite know my age, but we think I'm around 8 years young. I do have arthritis, and walks and stairs aren't my favorite thing. So I'm looking for a forever home that's a house with a back yard (a doggy door would be a bonus!), where I can sniff one patch of grass for 20 minutes at a time, one of my favorite things to do!
I'm fairly quiet, I only howl when my foster parents howl at me (which they love to do), and when it's meal time. Sometimes I howl when they're not home, but not usually, and the neighbors all love me, so I know I'm pretty quiet for a hound dog.
I go to the bathroom outside and I do every time I go out. I just need a regular schedule and would do best in a home with no stairs and with a backyard so I can go at my own pace.
I haven't met any babies, but I'm great with kids, and I've been very gentle with every person I've met.
I love to meet other dogs on my walks, and I'd love a home with more dogs. But I'm allright if I’m by myself. I am not very fond of the crate, so my foster parents just leave me out and about when they go to work, and I've never gotten into anything I’m not supposed to.
My favorite thing to do is nap all day long, next to you if you'll let me, or at your feet. Toss in a couple of treats and a patch of grass, and I'll be content forever!
All in all, I'm one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. I'm super excited about a home with a yard and more loving people for me to love right back!
