Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Daniel and I am a sweet 8 yr. old, 28 lb. beagle boy that needs to find a new home. I was found as a stray, but really have no idea how I ended up on the street, especially at my age. I guess I was just following my beagle nose and before I knew it, I was lost! I was brought to a local shelter in NJ where I patiently sat in a kennel behind bars, just waiting for someone to bring me back home. Unfortunately, my ‘someone’ never showed up. Lucky for me, I was brought to Penny Angels so that I could hang out with other beagles and take my time while I search for my forever home!!
UPDATE: Daniel is currently living in a foster home with 2 other beagles, but he still needs to find his forever home. This is what Daniel’s foster mom wanted everyone to know about him: “Daniel is an absolute sweetheart! He is a patient boy that walks very well on a leash. He likes to investigate things; he tries to climb steps or go in my basement, and tried to squeeze in between the slats on my back deck. He WILL get into the trash, but has NOT had any real "accidents" in the house. He RARELY barks, but will whine a little bit if he needs to go outside. I have seen a playful side of him, like out in the snow, he tries to engage my two to "Play", but they are old - 12 years old.
I think Daniel is profoundly hard of hearing; if he is laying down, he doesn't respond when I come in the door, whereas my other two beagles know before I'm coming in that I am home. He follows us everywhere, looking for cues on what is going to happen next. He is absolutely tolerant of everything… (who gets fed first, who gets the first hug when I come in, which doggie bed he sleeps in, etc.), but he wants to sleep snuggled up with the other dogs most of the time.
Daniel does startle easily sometimes because he cannot hear. He does not jump on people and has been really good with my 2 year old granddaughter. Overall, he would make an excellent pet for an older couple or someone looking for a loyal, grateful and low maintenance dog that is very happy to see them!”
