My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Casanova 18 month old male cream tabby British Shorthair; born mid-2012
Fostered in Santa Cruz

Well, the facts speak for themselves. No way to sugar coat it. I expect this handsome guy was out fighting for his girl or girls. He came into the shelter with little puncture wounds from fighting all over his head ,ears and neck. Yes he was an intact male. Yes he is 18 months old and you know what male teenagers are like. Cherchez la femme. The trouble is the bigger seasoned street wise older toms can thwart the younger ones with one paw tied behind their backs. Poor Casanova.

That is the past . We have changed all that. Moving forward....... This is a very nice, newly neutered kitty.

I love the way he lounges with his front paws always crossed. He looks like Mr Cool. He seems to naturally fall into poses. Good body language. I wish he wouldn't scowl at the camera. He is quite a character. Still a baby. Still growing. He is however already 9 1/2 pounds of solid muscle.

British Shorthairs are easygoing and easy care. They are not very demanding of attention but like to be lounging near their humans.
They like to be petted with 4 feet on the ground rather than held, sit near you rather than sit on you. They are said to be good apartment cats, happy to lie about all the time without needing the out of doors or constant attention.Their thick short soft fur takes care of itself with minimal grooming.

Casanova has slightly runny eyes which we are treating with antibiotics and that should be cleared up quickly.Otherwise he is a strong sturdy playful guy.Look at those plush big paws.He is great fun.

He is a good-natured boy and gets along with other cats. He would not be happy with an active cat that jumped on him all the time. He needs a laid back companion, if any, to match his temperament.

Casanova eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

Better photos soon.

His foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
