My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Hunter beagle. The best way to describe me, as stated by someone else, is that “I am so happy in my fur”. Do notice my fur isn’t all beagle. We are thinking I am a beagle/doxie mix.

My goal in life is to be a ball boy at Wimbledon. I love to run after a tennis ball. The only thing is that I tend not to give it back. You might need to ice your arm down after throwing the tennis ball repeatedly for me.

I am also happy to toss a ball or toy around by myself, and be self-entertaining. I am not one of those off the wall energy kind of guys, but I do like to get a lot of exercise, so a fenced yard would be the best for me.

I will play with my younger foster sister when she is in the mood, and foster dad says that I play nicely and respectfully. But I also like to be near people. When I am chewing on a nylabone or a kong, I like to lay by your feet or in your lap.

I am crated during the day, or when no one is home, and I don’t seem to mind. I am lucky in that I get a treat or peanut butter filled kong when I go into my crate. Yummy. Foster dad has also been crating me at night. Something about him having to be up at 4:30am and wanting to be sure to get his sleep.

Foster dad took me to this really nice ladies house, and I got to meet a big dog, and a cat. And didn’t seem to mind either. The big dog even gave me one of his chew toys to take home. COOL!! I have been on some short car rides, and rode fairly well, and foster dad said I walk good for having some beagle in me.

My one shortcoming is that sometimes I can be pretty mouthy while playing. Foster dad thinks someone taught me to roughhouse when I was a puppy, and we are working on my manners in that regard. But because of this, foster dad says it would be best if there were no young kids in the house.

Overall my foster parents say I am just a happy go lucky boy who likes people, and enjoys life to the fullest. And I would be happy with a 4-legged buddy in the house to play with. But I would also be just as happy being an only boy if you are willing to entertain me.
