Gibbs's Story...
Gibbs is a three year old male who weighs about 50 pounds. He is a very loving dog. He likes to cuddle and he wants to be as close to his human friends as possible. He knows how to sit, lay down, shake, play dead and roll over. He is playful, active and very food motivated. Gibbs likes to go on walks and he is currently learning how to walk properly on the leash. He will have to continue to work on leash walking in order to become a master walker. Gibbs also gets very excited when greeting other people and dogs. With some additional attention and training he will be saying hello like a champ. Gibbs will be the perfect dog for someone who wants to have a loving friend and who can continue to train him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gibbs, a Elk River Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Elk River, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Elk River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elk River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elk River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elk River paves the way for another one to be saved.
