Cotton's Story...
Cotton is an adorable 8 lb. ball of, well, cotton! She looks like a puppy, but she is actually 13 years old (though you would never know it). She is healthy and happy and enjoying life. Cotton has the sweetest personality and gets along with everyone. She did have some dental work done since her picture and those little snaggle teeth are gone, along with all of the others. She feels so much better now and really loves to eat. Cotton is such a good companion and has wonderful house manners. She likes belly rubs and snuggling and sleeping in “the big bed”.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cotton, a Wilmington Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
