Pauli looked out from his dark cage on the "death row" aisle of a dismal Texas shelter - his eyes were bright and revealed a soft plea that begged for release from his prison. Farfel's TX rescuer couldn't help herself and quietly unlatched the lock and scooped Pauli into her arms. She still speaks of the moment...Pauli snuggled into her and stared into the face of his savior. There was no question that he was thanking her with his entire soul. Pauli trotted joyfully from the shelter and jumped without hesitation into the car..and sighed deeply. He was finally safe! He was brought for the typical temperament testing and physical exams....he hit a home run with his temperament tests and had a perfect physical! He is now happily neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. In an effort to find a perfectly wonderful home for this exceptional companion dog, we have determined (with Pauli's foster's help) our goals in his match. Pauli is a 2.5 year old, 15 - 18 lb guy who is so loving and devoted...we envision him with only gentle children. What a great companion to come along on family activities (perhaps the soccer field or a day in the park?) He's so happy to be included...his foster has enjoyed him riding shotgun as he kept her company on her errands around town. He would also thrive with an active retired couple or individual that would include them in their day. He would be very appropriate to take along on long walks or a visit with friends...this would serve him in his further socialization education. In return, he will bestow tons of love and devotion on his people...it's just waiting inside of this adorable guy to be given with all his heart. Pauli gets along very well with dogs his size who are respectful and kind. He's never been around large, rambunctious dogs and we think we should keep it that way. Pauli is a non-shedding (although under duress, we've seen him lose hair) guy but is not suggested for those with severe allergy concerns.
Pauli will be arriving on transport in Denver on 9/30. We are currently accepting applications for this wonderful companion.
