My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Gingersnap, but my foster mom likes to call me her Gingersnap Cookie because I am so little and sweet!
I am a tiny beagle - I only weigh 16 pounds - but I am very energetic and I love to play with the other beagles who live here.
Before Midwest BREW rescued me, life wasn't so great. My old owners surrendered me to a shelter, and my foster mom and dad think that I was probably mistreated. When I first got here I didn't know a lot of things! I didn't know how to go on a walk, eat dog food, or do basic commands and I hadn't been to the vet for my shots or other routine care. Because of that last part I caught k-9 parvovirus from the shelter and spent a week being a very sick beagle. I pulled through it, though, and now I am healthy, happy, spayed, and fully vaccinated.
Now that I am back with my foster family I've made tons of progress. I'm much more confident and I love to play! One thing you should know about me - I live for attention and my tail is always wagging. As I always say, any moment not spent petting Gingersnap is a wasted moment.
I'm fully house-trained and foster mom gives me free-reign of the house when she's gone. I've never even had an accident!
I love people and small children, I ride really well in the car, I learn new things quickly, and while I'm not crate-trained right now my foster mom and dad think that I easily could be.
Sometimes I can be a bit of an attention hog and I'm pretty excitable, but I always have the best of intentions. Foster dad has started brushing my teeth, but my breath is still pretty stinky. My new family will have to keep an eye on my dental health.
Thank you Midwest BREW for helping me get healthy and get ready for my forever family. If you think I sound like the beagle for you just let them know! I can't wait to give you lots of cuddles, hugs, and beagle kisses!
