Asphalt was rescued from a local kill shelter the evening before his scheduled euthanasia. He had been brought in as a stray. This is what the shelter put out to rescue for this big black boy:
Male, Black (with white) Domestic Short Hair, ID: 28245 Moon is so sweet, and so cute. Beautiful black sleek silky fur - very soft with a feathering of white behind the front right leg just for luck! Very cute. Sweet beautiful, VERY LOVABLE huggable guy. VERY FRIENDLY. Perfect for any home. CRITICALLY URGENT - ONLY HAS THRU TUES 7/2 TO BE ADOPTED. EUTH IS ALREADY SCHEDULED. PLEASE HELP!
An FHS volunteer works near this shelter and went to check him out. She called his future foster mom with this information, "I'm in love!" She went on to describe a super sweet cuddly cat that was hugging her and wouldn't let go to go back in his cage. With that description, he entered the Furry Friends adoption program. Asphalt was neutered and chipped when he went into the shelter; however, contact information was not current. An address for an apartment was given and more than likely, his owners moved and threw him outside when they left. So Asphalt entered his foster home. For a few days he wasn't sure of all the other animals, but he is a very young cat and it didn't take him long to acclimate to kids, kittens and cats, and dogs and puppies. He is playful and loves to run around checking things out, but he is also super snuggly. If you can give a forever home to this big beautiful black boy, please fill out an application and take him home today! You'll be so glad you did!!!
