My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rosie knows sit, come, down, and off. She is learning to walk nicely on a loose leash, wait, roll over, and shake. She is crate-trained, housetrained and likes car rides. Baths? Well, she is tolerant but happy when the bath is over.

Rosie is a wonderful combination of calm energy with people while being happy to interact on our terms. She could be anyone's sidekick and will usually relax were she can see what you are up to (or come help, in the case of cooking and washing dishes). This loving dog gives kisses and will snuggle on the couch but also knows to wait for an invitation and what "off" means when she is too enthusiastic with her face washing. She rarely whines and when a beloved person leaves the room, she waits patiently for their return without signs of anxiety. If startled, by a loud noise from behind or a car driving up fast, she regroups quickly.

Rosie happily wags her tail when seeing people and gets along with children of any age. She can be a little shy but warms up almost instantly; with many people she is an instant buddy and ready for kisses. Rosie has been observed with adults of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds without signs of anxiety or nervousness.

Rosie has a moderate energy level and enjoys walks. She gets excited when the leash comes out, but sits patiently to put her "walking wear" on and enjoys a 30-45 minute walk each night. Rosie also knows how to fetch and loves to play with all types of toys; she brings them back and will let you take them gently from her mouth. She enjoys the running and playing, but settles down well and enjoys her rest time. She is also smart and enjoys playing with interactive toys, practicing her skills, etc.

There are currently no cats in the foster home, so she has had little to no exposure with them.
Her foster home does have other resident dogs and Rosie seems friendly and interested in other dogs. She trots up to initiate play but may need to work on her manners a bit since not all dogs enjoy excited energy. More to be seen in this area.

Will you be the lucky family that gets this silly, gently, loving, sweet girl?

Location: Milwaukee, WI
Adoption Fee: $200

All of our dogs are from the Milwaukee, WI area. We have no shelter but rather all our dogs are in foster care in private homes.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think what is more important is to get to know each dog as an individual and then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personality in order to determine if they will make a good companion based on your lifestyle. We dot like a dog to be "labeled". Dog behavior is not a breed thing exclusively. It is a complex mix of nature and nurture.

All Adoption Fees Include:

Veterinarian Examination and Health Report
Certificate of Veterinarian Inspection
Heartworm Test (if age appropriate)
Heartworm Prevention
Distemper Combo Vaccination
Bordatella Intranasal Vaccination
Rabies Vaccination (3 months and older)

$10 off Classes with Behaviorworks
Lifetime of Support from Canine Cupids
The love and companionship of a new best friend!
