Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sasha is a 5 yr old who is a very sweet, loyal, loving girl loves being part of everything her people do. She loves playing with her toys, swimming, exploring the great outdoors or relaxing wherever her people are at. She is good with children of any ages but can be a little over-enthusiastic for the little ones. She has a very healthy prey drive and will chase any little furry creature she comes upon, so a home with no small pets. Sasha is an awesome girl but needs to be the only dog in the home because of her dominant personality with other dogs and will be your most loyal companion. She knows all of her basic commands and has earned her Canine Good Citizen Certificate. She is extremely trustworthy in the house but is also crate trained. She is trustworthy off leash once she knows you and loves to run.
Her leg had to be amputated in September 2012 after being diagnosed with fibro sarcoma in 2010. We initially had the tumor removed but it returned and because of it's location in her knee, was causing discomfort and interfering with her gait. We consulted with the CSU veterinary hospital and they ran a battery of tests and did give us an option of physical therapy and other treatments. So we made the difficult decision to amputate her leg and she hasn't looked back! She still runs and plays and is a happier dog without that leg getting in the way! We have all her medical records and reports and will happily include all of them to any family that adopts her. Other than normal joint health supplements, using a lifejacket when swimming, and being careful to not overdo the exercise, the fibro sarcoma and amputation shouldn't be an issue in the future.
GSROR is helping to re-home Sasha and ask that you visit us at http://www.gsror.com/adoptionapp/ and complete an online application. Sasha’s adoption fee will be $150 and will go as a donation to GSROR.
