My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*COURTESY LISTING*
Meet Ava! Ava is a spayed, 6-month-old Pit Bull / Great Dane mix. She was found wandering the streets of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, on the night of November 1st, 2013. Several attempts were made to locate previous owners, but after nearly two weeks of being fostered, no one has stepped forward to claim this little beauty. Ava is now in desperate need of a new, loving home and family.
Ava stayed with my sister in her garage for the first two weeks after we found her, but it was becoming far too difficult to keep her there, and we had no other option but to take her to the shelter. Thankfully, Soo and Irwin, owners of Ufuria, offered to let me keep Ava in boarding as long as necessary, for a discounted rate. This was a godsend for Ava, as it will allow us more, much-needed time to find this girl the home she so deserves. However, even with a lower nightly rate, boarding will not be cheap, especially when you add in the expenses of feeding her as well.
We are asking for any donation amount that you may be able to spare. We are firm believers that absolutely every cent counts and makes a difference; no amount is ever too small. If you are unable to donate, please share Ava’s story and help spread the word. Every day that Ava is able to stay at Ufuria will raise her chances of finding a forever home and family, instead of ending up on a cold, concrete shelter floor. While in boarding, Ava will be participating in doggie daycare where she will gain much-needed socialization skills and confidence.
It wasn’t Ava’s choice to be left all alone and abandoned. But it was my choice to rescue her, and now I am asking for your help in making sure Ava’s future is far brighter than her past. Thank you for reading her story, and thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
Ava is crated-trained, knows basic behaviors (sit, down, stay, shake) and is quickly learning how to have manners in several different situations. If I could describe her in one word, it would be CUDDLEBUG! This girl just wants to be with people and be loved! She is very affectionate and yearns for human-interaction. She also does excellent in the car, and walks beautifully on her gentle-leader. She has been participating in doggie daycare, and so far has done wonderfully with other large dogs. Ava is not suitable for small breed dogs and, unfortunately, she is not cat-friendly.

For anyone who may be interested in adopting Ava, please do not hesitate to contact me! She really is the most amazing dog, and if I didn’t already have three senior pups of my own, I’d snatch her up in a heartbeat myself! I can be reached by phone at (909) 908-9206, or by email at jaime.sundquist@yahoo.com. Thanks so much!
