My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

“Run, Forrest, Run!” Forrest is a 1-2 year-old, male black Lab mix weighing around 65-70 pounds. In October, Forrest was near his end in a local shelter; now he’s safe and ready for a loving family! He learned his name is a matter of minutes and became crate trained in a day, very smart dog. He sits on command and shakes hands; Forrest also loves to play tussle and tag with his foster buddies, generally outrunning the field. His first trip in the field off leash was simply great! Forrest is clean in his crate, up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, heartworm free, and microchipped. Most young large dogs do best as a companion to another dog because of their puppy energy; small children are also usually not a good match. For his safety, sweet Forrest will also need a yard with a tall, secure fence. Is your family the right match for this loving Lab boy? Forrest would love a new family before Christmas! We promise you, Forrest “knows what love is!”
Anyone interested in our dogs must be over 21. We are only able to adopt to homes within a reasonable driving distance of the dog's foster home and please be prepared for a home visit by one of our volunteers. We do not adopt on first-come-first-served basis, we want to make sure the dog is right for the family and vice versa based on what we know about the dog's personality, habits and behaviors.
