My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ruby is the quintessential yellow Labrador that you see in the movies.... with maybe just a touch of Marley wink Her personality is amazing and everything that a true Lab owner looks for in a Lab. She is about 4 years old and 70 pounds.

Ruby is an active girl that loves attention and pleasing people. She is always up for a game of fetch or chase with other dogs. When she plays with other dogs, she never challenges them for the ball or Frisbee. She just runs back with them for the next throw.

Ruby has a couple of favorite activities. First is a car ride, especially to go to the park for a jog or to the dog park. Second, she LOVES to swim. If you have a pool, it will need to be fenced off from the rest of the yard.

Ruby loves children and takes treats very gently. She will be great companion to children at least 8-9 years old. She can play a little too hard for very young children and might knock them down.

We found out early on that Ruby has an Olympic caliber high jump! She can clear a 4 foot fence with very little effort. She will need a good sized backyard for play time and a 6 foot, secure privacy fence in her new home.

Ruby loves to patrol the yard and chase off the squirrels when her foster mom is home. She has a fairly high prey drive and does NOT play nicely with cats. She will probably not be good in a home with very small dogs, either.

Her ideal home is one where her people are around, maybe someone who works out of the house or a stay at home parent. Ruby needs someone who will work with her, take her on walks, play with her and make her an special member of the family.
