Rescue FAQs

We are a fully volunteer-run, foster-based rescue serving Minnesota with one purpose: to bring hope — and a second chance — to dogs and cats who have nowhere else to turn.
Our work begins in overcrowded local shelters, where animals face overwhelming odds, and continues in reservation communities where resources for pets are scarce.

We believe every companion pet deserves kindness, healing, and a family that sees their worth.

OUR MISSION: We save the lives of companion animals in need — including those who are homeless, abandoned, neglected, or at risk.
Through compassion, kindness, and care, we help them heal and thrive, ultimately becoming cherished family members in loving homes.

OUR VISION: We envision a world where every adoptable dog and cat has the chance to find a responsible, loving home opportunity to find a responsible, loving home — a world where no animal is mistreated, abandoned, or forgotten.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
Please complete an Adoption Inquiry Form on our website (www.rescuecrew.org) if you are interested in meeting one of our adoptable pets.
  2. Approve Application
Once submitted, one of our volunteer Application Processors will conduct necessary background/landlord/vet and reference checks.
  3. Meet the Pet
Once your application has been processed and approved, it is forwarded along to the pets foster caregiver for review and to reach out to you
  4. Sign Adoption Contract
Complete paperwork and fee electronically. No check needed (or accepted).
  5. Take the Pet Home
Welcome Your Family Member Home! Coordinate with the pet’s foster to bring your new furry family member home.

Additional adoption info

Your choice to adopt gives a deserving animal a second chance — and makes a difference in countless lives.

At The Rescue Crew, our pets live in loving foster homes, not kennels.

This allows us to truly understand each animal’s personality, quirks, and preferences, which helps us make thoughtful matches between pets and adopters. When you adopt through The Rescue Crew, you’re not just bringing home a pet. You’re joining a compassionate community that believes every animal deserves a safe, loving, forever home.
