Shelter FAQs

The Forest County Humane Society is a non-profit, no-kill shelter in the great north woods located in Crandon, Wisconsin. We rescue, rehabilitate and adopt out all breeds of dogs and cats. Every animal is given a thorough examination by a veterinarian before placing them in a loving home and all animals are tested for Lyme disease, heartworm, feline leukemia and other infectious or debilitating diseases. They are vaccinated, de-wormed and spayed or neutered. All animals are lovingly cared for until being placed in their “fur-ever” family. Our website is www.forestcountyhumanesociety.org. The Forest County Humane Society has the right to deny an application to adopt an animal for any reason or situation that is contrary to shelter policies, in violation of state or local ordinances or laws, or is not in the best interest of the animal.
