We do not operate a shelter that is open to the public. Our rescue animals are fostered in private homes and are shown by appointment.
If an animal is listed as urgent, it is currently at risk in a shelter. Please refer to the contact information in the animals description for shelter location, phone number and hours of operation.
NOTE: Our foster homes are COMPLETELY full and we are unable to take owned or stray pets into our rescue at this time.
If you are interested in adopting one of our rescued pets, please contact us to request an adoption questionnaire.
Once your questionnaire has been reviewed, a volunteer will get in touch with you to discuss our adoption procedures
After your questionnaire is approved a volunteer will arrange a time to visit your home and family or schedule a virtual home visit.
Friends of Harbor Animals is a group of independent rescuers working together to find permanent homes for cats, kittens, puppies and dogs who have found themselves in an Animal Shelter or other "unfortunate circumstance".
All the pets we have available for adoption are happy, socialized and healthy. Some of Friends of Harbor Animals Adorable Adoptables are cared for in private foster homes. Please CLICK HERE to meet more pets available for adoption
Additionally, our program of promoting animal shelter adoptions is an ongoing project of Friends of Harbor Animals. If an animal is listed as *URGENT*, the animal is currently available for adoption at the Harbor Animal Care Center (City of Los Angeles Animal Shelter) in San Pedro. The Care Center staff is available to answer your questions regarding the shelter's adoption policies and fees at (310) 548-2632 . Be prepared to provide the animal's impound (ID) number.
Please consider adopting your new companion pet from the Harbor Animal Care Center. SAVE A LIFE!
